With a big birthday just around the corner I have started reflecting on who I am at this milestone and what I have learned on this journey called life.

I find myself feeling more confident, sexier and more together than any other time in my life. I have the power of my dreams and the belief that I am creating the life I never thought possible previously. The life I claim as my own.

With a society that fears aging and offers many options to hide getting older, I find that I am truly stepping into my light and have no desire to be 20, 30 or 40 again.

On a walk the other day accompanied by the melodic tones of Chris Daughtry, something became apparent to me. It wasn’t something new. It was just confirmation of what I already know.

There was a line in one of Daughtry’s songs that touched me and got me thinking about living with an open heart.

As an aside, I love Daughtry – I love their beautiful music and I love Chris Daughtry’s story because it is one of commitment and belief. He was so focused on his passion and his talent that he made the dream happen despite rejection. He appears to truly live from an open heart.

The line in the song referred to that beautiful concept that real love, love that will change everything, can walk into your life at any time.

Sitting on a plane my eyes are distracted by some dancing lights on the page I am writing on.

They are truly magical and it takes me a brief moment to realise these dancing lights come from my crystal necklace around my neck. The sun that is shining through the plane window has captured it to create this magic ballet.
The necklace is extra special as I recently purchased it in Murano, Italy. So it holds the significant memories of travel, family, love and joy.
